The Document Controller is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective document control system to support the successful delivery of construction projects. The role ensures that all project documentation is accurately managed, properly distributed, and maintained in accordance with company standards.

The Document Controller will work closely with the Project Manager to:

  • Establish and maintain the project document control system in accordance with company standards.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing project documentation, including drawings, technical submissions, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ensure proper version control by maintaining the Master Document Register and preventing the use of superseded documents.
  • Coordinate document distribution and track transmittals, reviews, and approvals to support timely project execution.
  • Maintain structured filing systems to ensure document traceability, accessibility, and audit readiness, and provide administrative support to the project team as required.
Job Requirements & Person Specification
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, Information Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience handling construction documentation and technical drawings.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of document control practices and revision management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with electronic document management systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Aconex, SharePoint).
  • Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
