Job summary

A multinational organisation is seeking a Global Procurement Director to provide strategic leadership across its procurement operations. This role involves driving procurement as a value-creating function, leading digital procurement transformations, and ensuring governance and compliance across diverse geographies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement with 15–20 years of experience, and possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. This position offers an opportunity to influence and drive change in the procurement landscape of the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (CIPS, IIPMM, or equivalent) highly preferred.
  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Group-wide procurement, logistics strategy aligned to corporate, financial, and ESG objectives.
  • Lead the design and rollout of digital procurement platforms, analytics, and automation.
  • Oversee category strategies across major spend areas.
  • Establish and enforce Group procurement policies and governance frameworks.
  • Lead strategic supplier negotiations and partnerships.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global procurement leadership team.

Our client is a large, well-established multinational organisation with a strong international presence. Known for its focus on innovation, responsible practices, and long-term value creation, the organisation is currently undergoing a strategic transformation to further strengthen its enterprise capabilities. As part of this journey, they are now seeking a Global Procurement Director to lead procurement as a strategic, value-driving function.

This role provides executive leadership across global procurement operations, ensuring standardisation, governance, cost optimisation, supplier innovation, ESG-aligned sourcing, and risk management across diverse geographies and business units.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Procurement, Logistics Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and execute the Group-wide procurement, logistics strategy aligned to corporate, financial, and ESG objectives
  • Position procurement as a strategic business partner and value creator
  • Advise EXCO and senior leadership on procurement risks, opportunities, and market dynamics
Digital Procurement Transformation
  • Lead the design and rollout of digital procurement platforms, analytics, and automation
  • Drive data-driven decision-making for spend optimisation, demand management, and supplier performance
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
  • Oversee category strategies across major spend areas
  • Approve sourcing strategies, supplier panels, and long-term partnerships
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Establish and enforce Group procurement policies and governance frameworks
  • Co-chair the Group Tender Committee and oversee high-value, high-risk procurements
Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance
  • ESG & Sustainable Procurement
  • Embed ESG principles into sourcing and supplier management
  • Drive responsible and ethical supply chain practices
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
  • Lead strategic supplier negotiations and partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, IT, Sustainability, and Business Units
Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global procurement leadership team
  • Build organisational capability in strategic sourcing, governance, and digital procurement
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certifications (CIPS, IIPMM, or equivalent) highly preferred
Experience
  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial leadership
  • Proven leadership of enterprise-wide or global procurement functions
  • Strong experience in digital procurement transformation and change management
  • Solid exposure to governance, tender management, ESG sourcing, and regulated environment
  • Senior stakeholder engagement experience (EXCO, Board, regulators, strategic suppliers)
