Reporting to Deputy General Manager and oversees the management of construction of land and marine structure works including other associated works from planning throughout the implementation and specified deliverables.
Key Accountabilities
- Determine the objective and measures upon which the project will be evaluated and its completion within the cost and timeline.
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management.
- Review detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Oversee the construction progress and construction issues, and highlight for appropriate solution.
- Manage project staff according to the established policies and practices of the organization.
- Interface between internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth progress of the works.
- Establish with Consultants and Contractor a communication schedule on a regular basis to update stakeholder and iron out areas of concern during construction stage.
- Check the setting out required for the construction of the Works and request Contractor to rectify any errors if necessary.
- Ensuring the team at site and the main contractor follows the established site safety plan, traffic management plan, MRA approval condition, EIA approval condition and project quality plan.
- Provide support to liaise with relevant authorities and interfaced adjacent developers.
- Review tender documents of the package and participate in answering tender queries.
- Monitor the construction for elevated marine and land structure works.
- Report progress on construction and identify areas of concern with regards to time / cost and safety of the works.
- To maintain effective working relationship with all parties at site.
- To handle multi-disciplinary engineering activities (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) and provide support to the management in all aspects.
- To review all constraints and risks associated with various stages of construction activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
- At least 20 years of working experience in Engineering Construction and Supervision.
- To have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction of major infrastructure works.
- Have good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both staff and specialists / consultants / government agents & Project team.
- Good communication and written skills. Have an analytical ability to find solutions to technical / construction and administrative problems.
- Strong leadership skills and strategic mindset.
