Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager or Assistant Design Manager to join our growing team at Robin Village Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur (Northpoint, Mid Valley). In this full‑time position, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of our innovative civil and structural engineering projects.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead, supervise, and guide design engineers and drafting team on precast design, detailing, and drawings.
  • Plan, monitor, and report on design progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage collaboration and coordination of design information with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with contractors and consultants on submissions, updates, and changes to precast design and shop drawings.
  • Ensure optimized design solutions that comply with regulatory, contractual, and buildability requirements.
  • Review and improve drafting and modelling processes, including digitization initiatives.
  • Maintain drafting standards and workflows in line with company requirements.
  • Oversee and review precast shop drawings for accuracy and precision.
  • Monitor team efficiency and productivity, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
What we’re looking for
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar design management or assistant design management role, preferably in the precast industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage design teams, with excellent project management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in civil and structural engineering design, including proficiency in design software and modelling tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
