Job description

BD Agriculture (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd – Bukit Raja, Selangor

Responsible for functional concept and detailed design of new and improvement of existing products according to market needs andcustomer requirements.

Provide technical and engineering support to Company’s part localization activity including providing drawings, clarification on design, part function, part qualification, etc.

Generate, modify and store detail drawings of new or existing products design in company database whenever required.

Creation and maintenance of BOM or part list for projects on new or existing products.

Perform basic design calculations on designs whenever required to ensure part reliability and quality are realized.

Design, develop and assemble prototypes for in-house testing.

Understand and manage the product life cycle of new or existing parts from conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing, article coding and release for sales and production.

Undertake costing study of new products with the assistance of Procurement Engineers.

Provide technical and engineering support to the company’s Business Units (sales, sales support, claims and customer engineering), Procurement, Quality and After Sales & Field Services departments in terms of technical and design clarification, customized requests and alterations.

Responsible for the design of special customized solutions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

At least 2 years of working experience in mechanical parts design and drafting background or similar.

Have knowledge in sheet metal, machining parts design and production process is an added advantage.

Experience with plastic part design for manufacturing (injection molding, blow molding, etc.) is an added value.

Understanding of thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics, and composite materials, with a focus on their properties, performance and applications.

Ability to use and operate Solidworks CAD software or other design and drawing software.
