Job summary

A prominent property development firm in Malaysia is seeking a Deputy General Manager Accounts & Finance. This role requires overseeing the Finance department, managing financial planning, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Candidates should possess strong skills in accounting and taxation, along with at least 8 years of experience in full-set accounts. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, and have experience liaising with banks for financial projects. A competitive package is offered.

DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER ACCOUNTS & FINANCE

At least 8 Year(s) of working experience in performing full sets account with tax experience in Property Development field is required for this position (preferably with experienced working for the Big Four Audit firms).

Good command of written and spoken in Bahasa Malaysia and English, preferably able to converse in Third language.

Possess strong planning, organizing & project management skills.

Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Job Descriptions

Oversee and manage the Finance department, including accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR) processes.

Lead financial planning and cash flow management for development projects.

Conduct feasibility studies and develop financial projections.

Manage credit control and ensure timely collection of receivables.

Develop and implement efficient financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for projects and the company.

Partner with business departments on financial aspects of development launches.

Provide insightful accounting, finance, and tax expertise on commercial contracts, financial incentives and bank loan application.

Possesses the ability to liaise with bankers on bank facility application, charismatic and is able to convince bankers showing promising returns of project.

Account for and process monthly revenue collection, vendor billings, staff claims and journal entries

Prepare tax computations, coordinate filing of tax returns, process tax payments, manage withholding tax, etc

Collaborate with the COO to develop budgets and cashflow forecasts.

Maintain accurate accounting records, including fixed assets, AP/AR, and project capital expenditures.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and management account reporting.

Manage year-end closing and submission of financial statements for regulatory compliance and tax purposes.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other professional advisors.

Ensure adherence to the company's accounting policies, financial controls, and risk management framework.

Manage other ad-hoc finance-related tasks as needed.

To assist with procurement matter;

To plan and prepare company cash flow and its requirements for any purpose including Working Capital etc;

To be in charge of providing budgetary control;

To perform treasury duties which include cash management, financial risk management, banking relations, capital structure management etc;
