Role Synopsis
Responsible for the comprehensive management, strategy, and administration of the Finance & Accounting department for the company. The incumbent will lead a team of Finance & Accounting staff, define business requirements for Finance & Accounting systems, and oversee risk management. The role involves handling, preparing, computing, managing, researching, and analyzing all accounting data to provide quantitative information on the company's performance, financial position, liquidity, and cash flows.
Key Responsibilities & Result Areas
- Manage all aspects of the finance functions to support the development of business plans, monitoring, and reporting for the company. This includes, but is not limited to, bookkeeping, monitoring accounts payable and receivables, costing, cash and bank management, tax planning, and monitoring.
- Coordinate and manage financial analysis to facilitate company-wide strategic and financial planning activities.
- Manage the development and implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Prepare and present monthly account reconciliations, variance analysis, and ad hoc reports.
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information. Offer advice and recommendations to management regarding issues and ongoing concerns.
- Provide advice through various analytical tools, including auditing and analyzing financial performance, financial forecasting, and risk analysis.
- Compile and present financial and budget reports, subsequently monitoring spending and budgets.
- Ensure that financial statements and records comply with laws and regulations.
- Manage the preparation of financial reporting to the Chief Executive Officer for submission to Board of Trustee Meetings, Annual General Meetings, Board Risk and Audit Committee, and others as instructed by the CEO.
- Ensure proper filing of all documents based on applicable processes, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Plan, manage, and implement strategic and tactical action plans by participating in and/or leading business and organizational unit-wide projects as requested to meet the business and strategic needs of the business unit and/or organizational objectives.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Must Have
- Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in data analysis & result oriented
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Work comfortably in a fast paced, unpredictable environment where changing priorities may occur frequently based on operational needs
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision / direction
- Ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
- Years of Experience: 5 - 8 years working experience in related field. Preferably in a managerial position for more than 3 years.
- Educational Qualifications: Degree in Accounting/Finance or in any related field, shared service experience and/or audit experience preferred.
