A leading healthcare organization in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer to assist in overseeing daily hospital functions. The successful candidate will drive efficiency and financial health while ensuring top-tier patient care through effective management of resources and compliance. This full-time role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence. Ideal candidates will have relevant degrees and significant experience in healthcare operations.
The position assist the Group Chief Operating Officer to oversee daily hospital functions, driving efficiency, financial health, and top-tier patient care by managing budgets, staff (from clinical to support), facilities, compliance, strategy, and quality improvement, ensuring smooth operations across all departments from administration to patient services, and reporting to the board on performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Manage daily activities, resource allocation (inventory, facilities), and workflow optimization to ensure seamless service delivery.
Financial Management: Monitor budgets, control costs, optimize revenue, and ensure financial sustainability.
Staff & Leadership: Recruit, train, develop, and lead department heads and staff; foster a positive culture; manage performance and resolve issues.
Quality & Compliance: Implement best practices, drive quality improvement, ensure adherence to healthcare regulations (e.g., MSQH, Joint Commission), and maintain high patient satisfaction.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate on strategic goals, business development, and implementing initiatives aligned with the hospital's vision.
Stakeholder Relations: Liaise with medical staff, board members, community, and external partners; manage public relations.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement technology (like ICT) and process changes to enhance efficiency and patient‑centered care.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving.

Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and operations.
Strategic thinking and project management.
Progressive Healthcare Roles: Start in entry‑level roles (admin assistant, department supervisor) to gain foundational experience.

Healthcare Systems: Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations, compliance, and information systems (like HIS ) is crucial.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree: Required, typically in Healthcare Administration (BHA), Business Administration (BBA), Public Health, or related fields, covering finance, management, ethics, and IT.
Master's Degree (Preferred/Required): An MHA (Master of Healthcare Administration), MBA (Master of Business Administration with healthcare focus), or MPH (Master of Public Health) significantly boosts prospects, offering advanced leadership and management skills.
