Position Overview
Our client is scaling BI across the company and is seeking a Data Analyst/BI Specialist who can develop end-to-end dashboarding in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, with working knowledge of backend data practices (Snowflake & medallion modeling).
This position will turn ambiguous business questions into usable analytics used by ELT and go-to-market teams every day. This includes but is not limited to Power BI (and/or Fabric, Tableau, Looker, Superset, Mode) to deliver visually outstanding, flexible dashboards backed by reusable semantic models and governance. Light Snowflake/SQL skills are expected to partner with the data engineering team.

- Build reusable visual components (cards, KPI tiles, small multiples, sparklines, decomposition trees) and reusable page templates that teams can self-serve.
- Implement filter persistence and global UX (synced slicers, disconnected Period tables, calculation groups) so selections carry across all reports.
- Create custom visuals or extend visuals when needed (TypeScript/React/Vega/Vega‑Lite a plus).
- Partner with Snowflake engineers to shape Gold views/tables for BI; write and perform SQL tasks.
- Understand tasks, warehouses, masking/tags; ensure models are cost‑aware and scalable.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patters and insight.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process.

- Microsoft Fabric hands‑on (Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Pipelines, Capacities) or strong Synapse/Databricks experience with fast ramp to Fabric.
- Performance tuning: query folding, composite models, incremental refresh, aggregation tables, calculation group.
- Security & governance: RLS/OLS, endorsements, lineage, workspace/admin basics.
- Tooling: DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, XMLA endpoints, Deployment Pipelines, Power BI Admin portal.
