Job Overview
The Data Analyst will play a key role in driving data analysis, visualization, and reporting to support business intelligence and strategic decision‑making. This role involves compiling, processing, and interpreting large datasets to uncover insights, develop dashboards, and deliver clear, visually compelling reports.
In addition, the analyst will provide technical support for data‑related issues—troubleshooting inconsistencies, debugging SQL queries, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reports. Proficiency in SQL and strong analytical skills are essential. While prior experience is a plus, we also welcome candidates with a solid foundation in data analysis and SQL.
Job Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Visualisation
- Compile and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends.
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Perform data visualisation to present complex data in a clear and user‑friendly format.
- Identify patterns, correlations, and business insights that can drive decision‑making.
- Assist in optimizing data processes to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
SQL & Database Management
- Write and optimise SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within databases and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with the Software Development team to investigate and resolve data discrepancies, missing records, or calculation errors in reports.
- Contribute to database documentation and query optimisation to improve system performance.
System Support (Data‑Related Issues)
- Investigate and resolve data‑related system issues, including inaccurate report outputs and data inconsistencies.
- Provide first‑level support to internal users facing data retrieval or reporting issues.
- Collaborate with the Software Development team to debug database‑related issues and ensure smooth data operations.
- Document frequently occurring issues and solutions to improve troubleshooting efficiency.
- Work closely with business units to understand their data reporting and analysis needs.
- Assist in developing and implementing automation solutions to streamline data reporting processes.
- Deliver data‑driven recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and inform strategic decisions.
- Stay updated on emerging data analytics trends and best practices to enhance business intelligence.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Candidates with a strong academic foundation in data analysis, Power BI, Python, and SQL are encouraged to apply.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting—preferably within the trading, fintech, or brokerage industries is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- SQL: Proficient in writing and optimising SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and reporting.
- Data Visualisation: Hands‑on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Excel (charts, pivot tables).
- Data Analytics: Skilled in analysing and interpreting large datasets to identify trends and insights.
- Database Systems: Familiar with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other database platforms.
- Programming: Basic proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data processing and automation.
- BI Tools: Practical experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools, including Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail when working with complex datasets.
- Good communication skills to present data findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
