Why this role?

We are embarking upon an exciting growth phase, and as such, we have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team in KONE Malaysia as Procurement Manager. This role directly reports to the Procurement Manager, KONE Southeast Asia. The Procurement Manager is responsible for coordinating and handling procurement activities in their local unit, in close collaboration and alignment with local business operations and frontline teams. This includes driving the implementation of global and frontline-based sourcing projects in the country, as well as local supplier selection, negotiation, and management. He/she represents the Procurement of the country and supports functions and business on smart spend optimization.

What will you be doing?
  • Acts as a key point of contact and contract owner of all subcontractors and suppliers. Managing subcontractors and suppliers, procurement of local materials, managing contracts, PO management, process improvement, compliance, audit, and supporting stakeholders’ requests.

  • Drives the availability, quality, and cost development of local materials and services in the country

  • Ensures a smooth process of Purchase Order management

  • Facilities cross-functional cost and spend reviews in the country

  • Supervises Purchasing Coordinator

  • Implement process improvements, compliance, and audits

  • Provide efficient and effective business support to all stakeholders

  • Implements Global and Frontline category plans in the country

  • Strategic planning and execution

Are you the one?
  • Degree in Sourcing or Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering-related courses

  • Solid experience in procurement of direct materials or Quantity Surveyor (Cost Estimation)

  • Proficient in using MS Office tools and SAP

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership with a minimum of 4 years

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven track record of cost savings related to procurement or logistics management

  • Ability to thrive in a matrix organization

  • Knowledgeable of the supply market or cost estimation in the area of responsibility

  • Strong supplier tendering and negotiation skills

  • Well-versed in Contract Management

  • Good command of English
