Job summary

A leading packaging solutions provider in Selangor is seeking a detail-oriented cost accountant. In this role, you will assist in analyzing cost data, maintaining accurate records, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in accounting and has 2-3 years of relevant experience. A strong command of both Mandarin and English is essential for liaising with the China team. Qualifications

Requirements
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Professional Accounting Certificates.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in cost accounting (manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin & English (to liaise with China team).
  • Must be willing to work full-time at our Pulau Indah, Port Klang office.
  • Skills required: Cost Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Analysis and Variance Analysis.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing and analyzing cost data to support budgeting, pricing, profitability analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update cost records, standard costings, and cost analysis reports.
  • Monitor and update Bill of Materials (BOM), product costing, and production variances.
  • Support month-end closing activities related to inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis on raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
  • Review manufacturing processes and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse departments to gather accurate cost data.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities from a costing perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Support audit-related activities by preparing and providing required documents.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by superiors or management.
