Job description

This is a full-time Cost Analyst - Management Accounting position based in KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Finance team, you will play a crucial role in the management accounting and budgeting processes at J&T EXPRESS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the company’s annual budgeting, quarterly financial rolling forecasts, and monthly financial projections.
  • Support monthly and quarterly Activity-Based Costing (ABC) reporting; perform cost driver analysis and deliver monthly ABC reports.
  • Perform various operational variance analyses (labor, efficiency, cost, expenses) and identify root causes of variances.
  • Handle month-end closing activities and support ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with operations and support teams to gather information, analyze data, summarize findings, and present proposals to executive management.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve and simplify processes; proactively share ideas to enhance current systems, reports, and models.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial or accounting-related roles.
  • Experience in the express delivery or logistics industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in large enterprises in roles such as Management/Cost Accounting, Financial Supervisor, or Data Analyst is a strong plus.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, excellent learning capacity, communication skills, and an innovative mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, logical thinking, and high sensitivity to numerical data.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Hands-on experience or solid knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Basic coding or scripting skills (e.g., SQL, Python, VBA) to automate data processing and reporting are a strong advantage.
