This role is primarily focused on corporate development and strategic support, which includes project coordination and selected compliance‑related support functions as integral components of the role. The role involves supporting the maintenance of the Company's Malaysia Digital (MD) / MDEC framework status, and working closely with the Human Resources team to ensure continued compliance not only at the group or entity level, but also in respect of key IT and digital talent roles whose framework or eligibility status is material to the Company's MD standing.
Responsibilities
- Execute and contribute to the Company’s corporate development and strategic initiatives by implementing instructions from management, assisting in the formulation and execution of business development plans, conducting research on industry trends, market opportunities, and the competitive landscape, and independently preparing objective analysis and structured recommendations to support strategic planning and decision‑making.
- Evaluate and coordinate the execution of new projects, partnerships, and investment opportunities in accordance with management direction, including analysis of return on investment (ROI), key risks, and cost‑benefit considerations, as well as independently coordinating implementation, tracking progress, identifying issues, and providing transparent and timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across functions and with relevant internal stakeholders to support effective coordination, business planning, management reporting, and related analytical work, in accordance with management direction, while ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent communication of progress and outcomes.
- Conduct and coordinate supplier and vendor research, evaluation, and project coordination activities where applicable, including initiatives involving business development, grants, incentives, or strategic projects, ensuring alignment with the Company’s objectives and providing clear, objective, and timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support matters relating to MSC / MD / MDEC frameworks, including framework status matters, grant or incentive‑related projects, compliance checks, and visa‑related submissions, working closely with the Legal and Compliance teams, Human Resources, and external advisers as applicable, and acting as an internal coordination point without assuming statutory or regulatory responsibility.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree as a minimum qualification, in Business Administration, Management, Corporate Development, or a related discipline; higher academic qualifications will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant working experience in corporate planning, business development, project coordination, or related management functions, with hands‑on exposure to companies regulated or recognised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and MD (Malaysia Digital) initiative.
- Prior experience with MDEC / Malaysia Digital (MD) framework applications, including status applications, renewals, compliance reporting, funding or grant applications, and participation in government incentive programmes, will be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate business opportunities and translate insights into practical and actionable recommendations.
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and coordinate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining clear communication, transparency, and alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present progress updates, prepare structured reports, and communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to reporting lines and relevant stakeholders.
- A self‑motivated, disciplined, and proactive individual who demonstrates professional integrity, accountability, and transparency in the execution of duties, and is capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced and dynamic work environment.
- Basic knowledge of corporate compliance, governance, and administrative matters, including familiarity with corporate filings, statutory records, or liaison with professional advisers; corporate secretarial experience will be an added advantage.
