Job summary

ExxonMobil in Malaysia

In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology centre in Kuala Lumpur that provides high‑level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.

You will be an integral part of our process engineering team providing deep technical insights into a specific process engineering technology area (i.e. Gas Treating) and provide support to ExxonMobil’s manufacturing facilities globally.

Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Gas Treating engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur Technology Centre team. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, and you will be working very closely with our global process engineering team and manufacturing sites’ teams.

What you will do

If successful, your key deliverables will include:

  • Provide deep technical knowledge of blending principles, technology, and work processes to manufacturing sites across the globe
  • Provide specialist consulting and technical support to affiliates worldwide for new and deployed applications, including blending troubleshooting and assistance with optimisation issues
  • Provide technical leadership through technical training, work‑process reviews and best‑practice implementations
  • Closely work with site technology leads, manufacturing sites, process engineering, business stakeholders & business support functions to identify new opportunities, define the scope, cost, benefits and project schedule for new optimisation opportunities.
  • Support R&D activities in blending, optimisation and overlapping technologies.
About you
Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fuel product blending within refining/chemical operations
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • BS / MS in an engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering or Chemistry only)
  • Degrees in Data Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Math, or related fields will be considered & are encouraged to apply
  • Industrial experience in blending optimisation and/or coordination
  • Advanced MS Excel macro development.
  • Experience in statistical quality control (SQC) and statistical tools (JMP)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, accuracy, effectiveness, and self‑confidence
  • Demonstrations of leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Experience in hydrocarbon processing or supply‑chain optimisation/coordination, ideally within Refining or PetroChemicals organisations.
  • Understanding of key economic decisions in hydrocarbon processing supply‑chain is a plus
