We are seeking a Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to support plant maintenance activities for our Northern region facilities, including Prai, Kulim and Gopeng. This role focuses heavily on instrumentation, analyzers, field devices, DCS/PLC systems and critical control equipment.
You will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability activities and coordination with Operations and Maintenance teams. Occasional travel within the region is required.
Perform preventive and corrective C&I maintenance to minimise plant downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control equipment such as transmitters, sensors, control valves, analyzers, temperature/vibration probes and other field instruments.
Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting on DCS/PLC systems.
Conduct field inspections, assess equipment reliability and report abnormalities.
Supervise external contractors performing C&I repair work to ensure safe and compliant execution.
Manage SAP PM work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
Maintain C&I drawings, calibration gases, tools and spare parts inventory.
Support commissioning and start-up activities when required.
Ensure full compliance with plant safety rules, EHS requirements and ISO procedures.
Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronic, Control or related).
Minimum 4 years’ C&I experience in plant-based industries such as Chemical, Industrial Gas, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical.
Strong hands-on experience with instrumentation tools, control valves, transmitters, sensors and analyzers.
Ability to read and understand control and instrumentation drawings.
Experience with PLC or DCS systems.
Willing to travel within Prai, Kulim and Gopeng operational sites.
Background in a Maintenance Engineer capacity with strong instrumentation focus.
Familiarity with SAP PM, ISO documentation and analyzer calibration routines.
