Job description

Shorefield Sdn Bhd, established in 1993 in Kuching, Sarawak, began as an electrical contracting company. Today, Shorefield's diverse services include solar project installations, oil and gas, telecommunications, and utilities relocation works.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Contract Executive, located in Kuching. The role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets, administering contracts, managing risks, controlling costs, and ensuring accurate valuation and payment certification, in maintaining project financial health thus compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Contract Administration – Assist in contract administration, including amendments and variations. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Risk Management – Identify and assess risks associated with contracts and project costs.
  • Cost Control and Reporting – Provide project cost control (PCCA) input and commercial reports (CPR) ensuring the projects remain within budget.
  • Valuation and Payment Certification – Conduct valuations of completed works, certify payments to contractors, and submit interim payment application to Client.
  • Final Account Settlement and Dispute Resolution – Assist in handling of final account settlements and manage disputes and claims (variation order (VO), Loss and Expenses etc.).
  • Project Meetings and Coordination – Attend project meetings to monitor project progress and address contractual issues. Assist in monitoring extension of time (EOT), performance bond and insurances.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting – Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in quantity surveying, construction management or relevant qualification; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experiences.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven working experience managing contracts and procurement, construction estimating works, attention to detail and good communication skills while maintaining highest integrity in handling confidential documents.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and taking-off software is an added advantage.
