Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee contracting and commercial work, ensuring alignment with operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law and have at least 3 years of experience in contract negotiation and management, preferably in the telecommunications or IT sector. Excellent communication skills are required to manage project risks and billing issues effectively.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring that contracting and commercial work (including ordering and billing) is executed to meet the business and operational objectives of the account.
  • Review and provide negotiation support for pre‑sales contracts to ensure contract clauses support project delivery and implementation.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team and provide contract support, particularly in areas related to SOW/RM/Risk/Payment Terms/Acceptance/Warranty and other critical clauses impacting project implementation.
  • Manage contract variations by identifying change requirements, organizing the negotiation process, and ensuring that change orders are obtained, approved, and completed.
  • Advise the Business Director for the account on the efficient operation of the overall system or process, and provide guidance to the contract commerce team for execution.
  • Monitor project fulfilment status and manage contract risks, including risk identification, risk alerts, formulation of risk avoidance or mitigation strategies, and ongoing risk monitoring and reporting until closure.
  • Manage project ordering and billing, provide negotiation support, and proactively resolve any ordering and billing issues.
  • Manage contract closure.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in commercial negotiation and contract management.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, contract drafting, and contract review.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or information technology industry will be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
