Job Overview

We are seeking a Construction Superintendent with strong Instrumentation and Control experience to manage EPC contractor activities and support commissioning on a major offshore project. The role involves ensuring safe, high-quality execution of construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, while coordinating across project teams and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point for Control System and Instrument construction and support commissioning activities during execution, including reporting, monitoring, and control
  • Lead execution for Control System and Instrument construction and commissioning at site, ensuring alignment with project objectives for safety, quality, cost, and schedule
  • Assist the project head of fabrication in executing responsibilities for construction, system completion, commissioning, and preservation scope
  • Review contractor construction and commissioning plans, providing guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, codes, and standards
  • Ensure effective coordination and communication with other disciplines, including Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Hook-up & Completion teams
  • Provide technical support to contractors for quality, safety, planning, engineering, and start-up/performance testing
  • Review and approve Construction, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning documentation submitted by the EPC contractor
  • Identify and propose mitigations for construction and commissioning risks, monitor implementation, and report to senior management
  • Review all changes to construction and commissioning plans for impact on cost and schedule
  • Attend meetings, provide daily and weekly progress reports, and maintain lessons learned

Qualifications

  • Diploma, HNC, or vocational qualification in Sciences, Engineering, or Industrial discipline

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years in commissioning for major capital projects
  • Experience with Control System and Instrumentation construction on offshore structures (FPSO, fixed platforms, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning of field instruments, package equipment (HIPPS, Wellhead Control Panel, Hydraulic Power Unit, etc.), and Integrated Control and Safety Systems (DCS, Fire & Gas, IP/ESD systems) at FAT, SAT, fabrication yard, onshore, and offshore
  • Proven experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple execution locations
  • Familiarity with system completion databases and methodologies such as ICAPS or OPERCOM
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration within a Project Management Team
  • Knowledge of stakeholder specifications, international standards, and industry best practices
  • Conversant with ATEX/IEC regulations; CompEx certification for Ex installation and inspection is beneficial
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literate with experience in office and technical applications
  • Open to candidates with legal authorization to work in Indonesia
