Job summary

A technology company located in Malaysia is seeking a sourcing specialist to develop and implement sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and manage supplier performance within the electronics sector. The ideal candidate will hold a diploma or degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in an EMS or manufacturing environment. Excellent negotiation skills and knowledge of electronics components are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an EMS or Manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in negotiation, implementation and maintenance of supplier contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned commodity.
  • Lead global supplier negotiation of price, terms and services.
  • Monitor and review key supplier performance with regular feedback in QBRs.

Job description

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned commodity

Closely following assigned commodity supply market activities and price trends and take necessary action

Identifying, qualifying and selecting global suppliers with a team of buyers, supply chain specialists and supplier development engineers (SDE)

To develop alternative suppliers within commodity to leverage on value and drive suppliers to improve cost

Work with SDE to identify and develop new suppliers for cost reduction

Responsible in leading and conducting global supplier negotiation of price, terms and services

Management of contracts and agreement with suppliers

Responsible for reviewing and negotiating on VDP Agreements with key suppliers

Monitor & track PCN

Be proactive in managing supplier capacity to match demand of all manufacturing sites

Monitor and review key supplier performance with regular feedback in QBRs

Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an EMS or Manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of electronics components
  • Demonstrate expertise in negotiation, implementation and maintenance of supplier contracts
  • Effective interpersonal skills, both internally and externally
