Job summary

A local bakery company in Petaling Jaya is seeking a kitchen staff member to handle food preparation and maintain high food safety standards. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in a related field and must be able to follow directions from the Head Chef. Effective communication in Malay and English is required, while Mandarin speaking is an advantage. This role includes responsibilities such as mastering cooking methods, preparing ingredients, and undertaking general kitchen duties.

Responsibilities

• Master all basic cooking methods such as cutting ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients according to menu/SOP.

• Maintain food safety standards.
• Clean the kitchen area, crockery, and equipment.
• Familiarity with all electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.
• Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.
• Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
• To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.
• To always maintain food safety standard.
• Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.
• Ability to work in a team.

Work Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least SPM or equivalent.
• At least 1Year(s)of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Mandarin Speaker is an advantage.
• Able to communicate in Malay and English, or Mandarin.
• In depth knowledge of food preparation.
• Able to follow directions from the Head chef.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including OT, weekends, and holidays.
