A leading personal finance platform is looking for a Chinese Language Social Media Content Creator. In this role, you will create engaging video and written content in Mandarin for platforms like Xiaohongshu and Facebook. The ideal candidate is a native Mandarin speaker with social media experience, video editing skills, and an understanding of Malaysian Chinese culture. This is an opportunity to help shape the platform's Chinese-language presence from the ground up, making finance content genuinely interesting.
RinggitPlus is Malaysia's leading personal finance platform, helping millions of Malaysians make smarter decisions about credit cards, personal loans, insurance, and savings. We've built a strong English-language presence, and now we're curious about something: can we connect with Chinese Malaysian audiences in their own language?
We're hiring a content creator to help us explore Chinese-language content - testing what works on Xiaohongshu, Facebook, and other platforms where Malaysian Chinese audiences hang out. This is an experimental role. We don't have all the answers yet, and that's the point. You'll help us figure it out.
This isn't a translation gig. We're not looking for someone to dub our English content into Mandarin (that would be weird and nobody would watch it). We want a creator who thinks in Chinese, understands Malaysian Chinese humour and culture, and can make personal finance content that doesn't feel like homework.
You won't be executing someone else's strategy - you'll be helping to create it. This is ground-floor stuff: figuring out what works, what doesn't, and what RinggitPlus's Chinese-language presence should look like. If the experiment succeeds, you'll have shaped something from scratch.
Chinese Malaysians who prefer consuming content in Mandarin don't have many options for trustworthy personal finance guidance. Most financial content is either in English or feels like it was translated by someone's auntie using Google. You could change that.
Also, you get to expense Xiaohongshu scrolling as "market research". That's not nothing.
Send your resume, a brief intro, and links to your content samples to: ****@jirnexu.com
We want to see your work - share videos you've created, your Xiaohongshu account, your TikTok/Instagram, or a portfolio link. If your content makes us learn something or laugh (ideally both), you're probably the right person.
