  • Oversee full spectrum of accounting operations and statutory reporting for Volvo Malaysia.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual book closing and reporting processes.
  • Analyze financial reports including P&L and present findings to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysia local GAAP and Volvo Group policies.

  • Providing the leadership and daily management of the Finance Control and Accounting team towards strategic operational support to facilitate achievements of business objectives.
Key responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Responsible full spectrum of accounting operations - AP, AR, FA, GL and statutory/management reporting for Volvo Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
  • Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual book closing & reporting process and consolidation of books of accounts in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS Reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for analysis of financial reports including P&L, B/S analysis, presenting financial data to senior management and explaining trends, variances, and areas for improvement and presenting to Management.
  • Lead timely and successful yearly completion of:
  • Volvo Group Internal Control Review
  • Internal Audit
  • External Audit
  • Corporate Tax submission
  • Budget and forecast preparation for own department. Actual spending fluctuation analysis.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable Malaysia local GAAP, Volvo Group Policy and Internal Control Guidelines
  • Identify continuous improvement/optimization plans to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders ie. Group Accounting team, tax specialist, IC team and group function leaders. Always initiate discussion to achieve best practice in the region.
  • Ensuring reports adherence to regulatory requirements and collaborating with the legal team to ensure compliance
  • Lead and coach the legal entity Finance Control and Accounting FCA team
  • Ensure compliance with other regulatory requirements – Sales & Service Tax, Bank Negara Reporting
Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field
  • Professional qualification required (MIA/ACCA/CPA/MACPA or equivalent)
  • Proven track record for at least 5 years in senior finance roles with automative, Manufacturing industry experiences.
  • Hands on experience in automation, digitalisation & standardisation is an added advantage
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
  • Organizational skills and Demonstrated people management and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in the English language and excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Analytical capacity and Automation/Digitalisation experience in Finance.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Expertise in Local GAAP Accounting and International Accounting Standards
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations
  • Ability to partner across organization to deliver effective business solutions.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Hands on experience in accounting & Financial system is must. (SAP MF)
