Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform all chemical analyses of received samples using techniques such as HPLC, ICP, GC, UV‑Vis, FT‑NIR, and titration.
• Interpret and document analytical data accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, including test results, protocols, and summaries.
• Assist in the process for development, modification, verification and validation of methods.
• Responsible for maintaining quality control systems and documentation.
• Update QC sample results to QC charts.
• Conduct the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Coordinate with external vendors for instrument repair and qualification as needed.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and inventory are adequately stocked and reordered as needed.
• Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to lab technicians and interns.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory submission documents as required.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Investigate any non‑conformance as required.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to support any research projects and experiments.
• Carry out proper disposal of reagents and wastes.
• Stay updated on the latest industry standards, regulatory requirements, trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Registered Chemist (recognized by the relevant professional board or authority).
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in food or feed testing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and instruments (e.g., ICP, HPLC, GC, UV‑Vis, FT‑NIR, etc.).
• Familiar with laboratory quality systems and documentation.
• Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good communication and report‑writing skills in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
