Job summary

A leading chemical company in Port Klang is seeking a Laboratory Chemist to oversee testing and inspection activities in compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a minimum of one year of relevant experience, and must be a registered chemist. Responsibilities include managing laboratory performance and safety standards, approving materials, and conducting training. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and safety of products.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview
  • Responsible on Laboratory testing and inspection activities with compliance of ISO standard requirement
  • Ensuring laboratory test method with following ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Ensuring laboratory used chemical, gas cylinder, glassware, apparatus, consumable items which shall be meeting to test method’s requirement / specification
  • Ensuring laboratory environmental control, safety and housekeeping program with compliance of ISO and DOSH requirement
  • Managing on laboratory competency performance and laboratory staff training development.
  • Monitoring data control and information management in system (DMS, SAP and LIMS).
  • Authority to approve release of incoming raw materials, packaging material and finished products COA.
  • Monitoring on laboratory safety and housekeeping program.
  • Responsible as an Internal Auditor for ISO standard
  • Responsible as a Competent PCQI personnel
  • Responsible as a Food Safety Team member with given HACCP Job Responsibility and Authority
Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry background.
  • Minimum 1 year working experience in related field
  • Registered with IKM as Registered Chemist.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical principles, laboratory techniques and instrumentation for surfactant analysis
  • Experienced in handling GC, HPLC, autotitrators, NIR instruments
  • Knowledge in personal care and homecare related regulations is a plus
