Job summary

A chemical manufacturing company in Port Klang is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and be registered as a chemist. Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instruments such as GC and HPLC is crucial. The role also involves monitoring safety, training staff, and approving materials for use in production.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in related field.
  • Registered with IKM as Registered Chemist.
  • Knowledge in personal care and homecare related regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Laboratory testing and inspection activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Manage laboratory competency performance and staff training.

Job description

Responsible on Laboratory testing and inspection activities with compliance of ISO standard requirement

Ensuring laboratory test method with following ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Ensuring laboratory used chemical, gas cylinder, glassware, apparatus, consumable items which shall be meeting to test method’s requirement / specification

Ensuring laboratory environmental control, safety and housekeeping program with compliance of ISO and DOSH requirement

Managing on laboratory competency performance and laboratory staff training development.

Monitoring data control and information management in system (DMS, SAP and LIMS).

Authority to approve release of incoming raw materials, packaging material and finished products COA.

Monitoring on laboratory safety and housekeeping program.

Responsible as an Internal Auditor for ISO standard

Responsible as a Competent PCQI personnel

Responsible as a Food Safety Team member with given HACCP Job Responsibility and Authority

Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry background.
  • Minimum 1 year working experience in related field
  • Registered with IKM as Registered Chemist.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical principles, laboratory techniques and instrumentation for surfactant analysis
  • Experienced in handling GC, HPLC, autotitrators, NIR instruments
  • Knowledge in personal care and homecare related regulations is a plus
