Job description

We are looking for a certified Chargeman BO (11kV) with a strong background in facility maintenance to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and operating electrical systems safely and efficiently, while also handling general facility upkeep and repairs.

Job Responsibilities

Electrical (Chargeman BO – 11kV)

• Operate, supervise, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment up to 11kV including switchgears, transformers, distribution panels, and related components.

• Ensure all electrical installations comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations and Electricity Supply Act 1990.

• Monitor and maintain high-voltage electrical equipment performance and carry out scheduled preventive maintenance.

• Manage electrical permits, renewals, and coordinate with regulatory authorities.

• Maintain proper electrical documentation, including daily logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.

• Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergencies to minimize downtime.

• Support electricity consumption tracking and submit sub-metering records to the Energy Management Team.

• Identify and propose energy-saving initiatives and cost reduction projects.

Facility & General Maintenance

• Perform daily checks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on factory facilities, infrastructure, and machinery.

• Assist in basic handyman tasks including carpentry, plumbing, small wiring work, and general factory maintenance.

• Implement facility maintenance programs and improvement plans to ensure optimal performance of all support systems.

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Liaison

• Ensure all operations and maintenance work adheres to Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Energy (QHSEE) policies and procedures.

• Liaise with statutory bodies (e.g. DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, NIOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga) for inspections, audits, and certifications.

Other Duties

• Support production and maintenance teams as needed.

• Assist management with ad-hoc tasks related to plant operations and safety.

• Carry out any other duties assigned by management within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• Valid Chargeman BO Certificate (11kV) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in electrical maintenance and facility management in an industrial setting.

• Familiar with electrical safety regulations and energy efficiency practices.

• Hands-on knowledge in troubleshooting facility equipment and minor handyman works.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
