Job summary

A Malaysian engineering firm is seeking a Draftsman with expertise in ACMV/HVAC systems. The role involves preparing detailed 2D and 3D drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and resolving design issues. Candidates should have at least a diploma in engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. The position may require travel within Kuala Lumpur or Johor, based on management's needs.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of drafting/modelling experience in ACMV/HVAC field.
• Capability to produce accurate and compliant drawings.
• Willingness to travel within KL city center or Johor.

Responsibilities

• Develop shop drawings and resolve clashes with other trades.
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings based on specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers and architects for design requirements.

Skills

Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD

Proficient in Revit

BIM Level of Detail 400 (LOD 400)

Education

Diploma in engineering discipline

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare shop drawings, layouts, and as-built regarding ACMV/HVAC duct, pipe, pipe support, cabling, equipment & resolve clashes with other trades;
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings based on specifications, sketches, and design inputs;
• Revise drawings as required based on feedback or design changes;
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project requirements;
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other team members to gather design requirements;
• Assist in resolving design-related issues during project execution;
• Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions;
• Ensure proper version control and document tracking;
• Use CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools;
• Convert hand-drawn designs into digital formats;
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications;
• Support quality control processes by ensuring drawing integrity;
• Undertake other related job as directed by immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Possess at least Diploma in engineering discipline;
• At least 2 years in drafting/modelling within ACMV/HVAC field/construction (Ducts, Piping, etc);
• Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit;
• Able to produce at least Level of Detail 400 (LOD 400) BIM drawings for ACMV/HVAC Systems is a plus;
• Willing to travel within KL city center or Johor, depending on management's arrangement.
