Job description
About the role

We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Business Development Manager to expand our offshore support services portfolio in Malaysia and Singapore. The role focuses on selling integrated services — including catering/food solutions, laundry, and housekeeping — to offshore oil & gas clients, ship owners, drilling contractors, and marine operators.

You will be the primary driver of market growth, building relationships with local decision-makers while positioning our company as the partner of choice for safe, reliable, and cost-efficient offshore hospitality services.

Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Sales
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new offshore opportunities (rigs, FPSOs, drillships, offshore supply vessels, and other marine assets).
  • Develop and execute a local go-to-market strategy to win long-term contracts with oil & gas operators, ship managers, and vessel owners.
  • Build a strong opportunity pipeline, from prospecting to closing, to meet and exceed revenue and margin targets.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, RFP responses, and contract structuring with support from legal, finance, and operations.
Client & Market Engagement
  • Build trusted relationships with local and regional client stakeholders, including procurement managers, marine superintendents, and offshore operations leaders.
  • Understand client pain points (e.g., HSE compliance, crew welfare, cost control) and position our value-added solutions accordingly.
  • Act as the main local contact for regional/global accounts, aligning with internal key account teams.
Market Intelligence & Positioning
  • Monitor and analyze offshore market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects in Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Advise management on pricing strategies, service innovations, and emerging opportunities (e.g., decommissioning, renewable offshore platforms).
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums (e.g., MOGSEC, OGA, APAC Marine).
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with Operations and HSE teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, compliant, and operationally executable.
  • Partner with regional leadership to design compelling proposals and service models tailored to each client.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and win/loss analysis.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: 5–8 years in business development or key account management in offshore oil & gas, marine services, or remote site hospitality (catering, housekeeping, support services).
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiar with offshore contract catering, marine support logistics, and HSE requirements for offshore assets.
  • Network: Established connections within Malaysian O&G operators, drilling contractors, or ship management companies is a strong plus.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills. Strong commercial acumen and contract understanding.
  • Other: Willingness to travel domestically and offshore when required; fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus).
KPIs / Success Metrics
  • New revenue generated from offshore contracts (annual sales targets).
  • Win rate of bids/tenders for offshore opportunities.
  • Client satisfaction scores and contract retention rates.
  • Growth of pipeline (qualified opportunities and conversion).
