Business Development Manager - Luxury Hospitality Payments / Business Development Manager (B2B Fintech & Payments)
We are partnering with a global leader in payment and technology solutions, with over 40 years of expertise in cross-border transactions. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and focuses on acquiring new 5-star hotel groups and large enterprise customers for multi-currency and integrated payment solutions. This is a high-impact, hunter role with autonomy and an uncapped commission structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Merchant Acquisition: Drive end-to-end sales to onboard luxury hotel groups (Marriott, Accor, IHG, etc.) and large enterprise merchants.
- Partner Ecosystem Management: Collaborate with Bank Relationship Managers to generate warm leads and co-pitch integrated solutions.
- Commercial Negotiation: Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals involving Hotel GMs, Financial Controllers (FCs), and IT Directors.
- Technical Liaison: Bridge between client and technical teams to ensure smooth integration with Property Management Systems (PMS) and payment gateways.
- Revenue Optimization: Master Merchant Discount Rates (MDR) and currency solutions (DCC/MCP) to propose high-ROI commercial models.
Requirements
- A Proven Closer: 3-5+ years in B2B sales/business development within Payments, Fintech, Banking (Merchant Acquiring), or Hospitality Technology (SaaS/PMS/POS). Track record of quota attainment.
- A Self-Starter with Hustle: Proven ability to generate leads and perform proactive outbound sales.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of MDR structures and the merchant acquiring lifecycle. Experience with Oracle Hospitality (Opera) or similar PMS is a significant advantage.
- Commercially Savvy: Ability to draft proposals and build business cases.
- Partner Sales Aptitude: Experience with channel partners (Banks/Tech Vendors).
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to pitch to C-suite and senior finance stakeholders with professional English fluency.
- Growth Mindset: Desire for autonomy, high performance, and a clear path to greater responsibility.
