We are looking for an experienced and results‑oriented Business Development Manager to drive growth in the renewable energy sector. The role focuses on identifying high‑value opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and closing major deals in large‑scale solar, rooftop solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and clean energy solutions. This senior position requires strong market knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence key decision‑makers in corporate, industrial, and government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development initiatives for large‑scale renewable energy projects (e.g., rooftop solar, PPAs, LSS and BESS)
- Develop new business opportunity to support the business functional unit to ensure healthy funnel
- Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies for key sectors (commercial, industrial, utility, and government)
- Identify, qualify, and pursue high‑value opportunities to expand the company's portfolio
- Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, and financial models to support project proposals
- Build and manage long‑term relationships with key account customer, new customer and strategic partners
- Act as the primary contact point for high‑profile clients, ensuring trust and satisfaction
- Represent the company in negotiations, industry events and association engagements
- Drive the full sales cycle for large and complex opportunities, from lead generation to deal closure
- Develop new business with cross selling and upselling techniques to maximize customer value and deepen client relationships
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales and revenue targets
- Develop structured proposals, bids, and tender submissions
- Work with internal teams (engineering, project, finance, and legal) to structure solutions that meet client needs
- Provide market insights and competitor intelligence to inform strategic decisions
- Mentor and support junior business development executives in pipeline growth and client management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or related discipline (MBA is an advantage)
- 5‑8 years of proven business development or sales experience, with at least 3 years in renewable energy or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of renewable energy solutions (solar PV, BESS, PPAs, FiT, NEM, CRESS, green certificates, carbon credits)
- Demonstrated success in closing large contracts or partnerships
- Excellent negotiation, networking, and presentation skills
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, able to interpret business cases and ROI models
- Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional initiatives
