Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager with a strong background in the events, exhibitions, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of sponsorships, exhibition spaces, and event packages. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of closing high-value deals and cultivating long-term business relationships within the Middle East region.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Sell sponsorships, exhibition spaces, delegate packages, and other event-related offerings.
- Drive revenue targets through new client acquisition and upselling to existing clients.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development to contract closure.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build, maintain, and expand strong client relationships across various industries.
- Leverage a strong network of senior decision-makers in the respective region to generate business opportunities.
- Ensure exceptional client service and support throughout the pre and post-event process.
- Strategic Business Development:
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, corporate tie-ups, and joint ventures to expand event reach and influence.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, operations, and content to develop compelling event offerings.
- Pitching & Presentations:
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with company goals and client expectations.
- Market Intelligence:
- Stay up-to-date with regional and global trends in the MICE and events industry.
- Provide regular feedback to senior management on market dynamics and strategic opportunities.
- Key Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in business development or sales in the Events, Conferences, Exhibitions, or MICE industry.
- Proven track record in selling sponsorships and exhibition space with tangible revenue results.
- Extensive client network particularly in the Malaysia, Singapore, and GCC markets.
- Strong understanding of event life cycles, sponsorship models, and client engagement strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
