A Japanese International Logistics Provider is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee operations in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and overseeing import and export operations. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 5 years of managerial experience, and is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This position offers a one-year contract with potential for permanent placement based on performance.
The Branch Manager is responsible for staff management (training, guidance and communication), overseeing import and export operations, Singapore shipment arrangements, warehouse control, sales (maintain current customer, new target), office administration, ISO compliance, and liaison with authorities. This role ensures smooth daily operations, regulatory compliance, timely billing and collections, and effective staff and facility management on the branch.
Oversee daily import and export operations, including coordination of local and Singapore-bound shipments.
Liaise with freight forwarders, transporters, shipping lines, and customers for shipment arrangements.
Liaise with Royal Customs, MITI, Port Authority, and other relevant authorities.
Visit customers for operational updates, relationship management, and follow-ups.
Ensure operational analysis and mandatory reports are prepared and submitted on time.
Manage JB branch office administration and operations.
Ensure invoicing and billing processes accurately and timely.
Collect payments and follow up on Statements of Account (SOA).
Coordinate with HQ.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years experience as manager in operations, import/export, or logistics management.
Knowledge of customs procedures and office administration.
ISO 9001:2015 knowledge is an added advantage.
Experience handling Singapore shipments.
Strong coordination, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
This position is offered on a one year contract basis. Confirmation to a permanent staff position is subject to performance evaluation in the subsequent year.
