Job description

Job Summary

The Beach Maintenance Attendant is responsible for performing duties to maintain proper standards of cleanliness and sanitation at the Quarry. This is a seasonal position.

Essential Functions

• Monitor the appearance of the Quarry facilities by keeping the areas clean and sanitize tables, restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Pick up lose trash and empty garbage cans inside and outside of Quarry.
• Clean up spills and mess in concession and other areas of the Park.
• Rake beach and remove rocks as needed.
• Daily maintenance of the beach including sand removal.
• Power wash diving tower.
• Organize picnic tables for patron use.

Education and Experience

This position requires one year of service experience and 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Aptitude to operate maintenance machinery, i.e. power washer, leaf blower.
• First Aid/CPR Certified.
• Ability to communicate with the public.
• Ability to deal with residents under stressful conditions.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understand and anticipate customer’s needs as well as support a customer service environment.
• Ability to portray a professional image of the District.
• Perform all job and tasks within guidelines and rules of District's safety program.
• Adhere to the time and attendance policy.
• Adhere to the dress code policy.

• Complete other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Requires frequent sitting and walking with occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Most activities are performed outdoors; including sunny, hot, humid and wet conditions.
• Exposure to a quiet noise level while in office and a moderately loud level while outside.
• Hours for position are between 10:30am - 7:00pm daily. This is a part time positions (30 hours a week)

*Starting Rate: $15.50 (hourly rate will vary based on experience or qualifications)
