Role Overview
The Backend Operation Manager oversees backend operations for large, high-value massage chairs, managing warehouse handling, inventory accuracy, logistics, installation coordination, and backend after-sales workflows. The role ensures safe handling, on-time delivery, accurate stock control, and smooth installation readiness across warehouses and logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Handling Operations
- Manage storage, movement, and handling of bulky, heavy massage chairs
- Design warehouse layout for oversized SKUs and spare parts
- Enforce SOPs for lifting, palletizing, packaging, and damage prevention
- Oversee inbound QC (carton integrity, model/serial verification)
2. Inventory & Asset Control
- Maintain accurate inventory by model, color, serial number
- Track demo units, showroom stock, refurbished, and damaged units
- Manage spare parts inventory (rollers, control panels, motors)
- Conduct periodic physical counts and reconciliation
3. Logistics & Delivery Management
- Coordinate white-glove delivery teams and transport partners
- Plan route scheduling for large-item deliveries
- Ensure delivery readiness (access checks, lift availability, staircase risks)
- Monitor delivery SLA, damage rates, and failed delivery cases
4. Installation & Backend Coordination
- Coordinate delivery + installation schedules
- Ensure installers receive correct model, tools, and instructions
- Track installation completion and handover confirmation
- Handle backend escalation for failed or rescheduled installations
5. Returns, Repairs & Reverse Logistics
- Manage DOA (dead-on-arrival), exchange, and return processes
- Coordinate pickup, warehouse inspection, and refurbishment flow
- Track repair status and parts replacement
- Reduce turnaround time for repair and replacement cases
6. Systems & Data Management
- Maintain WMS / ERP records for serialized products
- Ensure order-to-delivery-to-installation status accuracy
- Generate backend reports: damage rate, delivery success, stock aging
7. Process Improvement & Compliance
- Develop SOPs for:
- Heavy item handling
- Damage prevention
- Installation readiness
- Reverse logistics
- Ensure compliance with safety, warranty, and quality standards
Required Skills & Competencies
- Experience handling bulky, high-value goods
- Able to speak and write in mandarin
- Strong logistics and warehouse process control
- Knowledge of last-mile bulky delivery & installation
- Familiarity with serial number tracking
- Ability to coordinate multiple backend teams (warehouse, delivery, installers)
- Strong problem-solving for operational exceptions
