Job summary

A leading bank in Malaysia is looking for a Data Analyst to support their data management head. The role requires deep knowledge of data warehousing and proficiency in SQL and HQL. This position demands strong communication skills as you'll liaise with various departments. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT or Computer Science is necessary, along with 12+ years of relevant experience, ideally in the banking sector. The successful candidate will manage business requirements and ensure data quality for delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree / Master in IT/Computer Science or related discipline.
• Working experience in Data Warehouse banking, understanding of FSLDM model.
• Preferably having 12 total and above years of work experience.

Job description

Job Purpose

• Assume responsibility as data analyst to assist data management head for request coming through Project Support, URS and BAU fixes.
• Able to write, understand and troubleshoot complex business logics in SQLs/HQLs And provide RCA and also fixes to issues found.
• Write Stored Procedures, Functions SQLs and Teradata, Oracle , Hive HQLs
• Develop jobs in shell scripts in Unix/Linux
• Team player and strong communication skills in dealing with various departments or stakeholders
• Review BRD to confirm data requirements
• Cross check against Data warehouse (DWH) to confirm data availability or data gaps
• Perform data mapping based on DWH data design and model
• Perform data profiling to identify data quality issues

Accountability

• All business requirements and necessary details for designing the solution have been capture
• All data requirements are mapped and translated to Functional Specification document (FSD) for delivery

Skills Required

• Good understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, reporting and other relevant technical skills i.e. SQL, HQL, UNIX, Data Warehouse, Hadoop/Teradata/Informatica.
• Working experience in Financial & Banking sector
