Job summary

A leading fintech company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a QA Engineer to enhance its automated testing capabilities. You will design and develop automated testing suites, focusing on API testing and integrating with CI/CD pipelines. Ideal candidates have over 3 years of experience in software testing and are proficient in tools like Selenium and Cucumber. This role requires a proactive mindset suited for a fast-paced environment, with a hybrid work model of 3 days from the office.

Overview

Global presence in over 10 countries, VC-backed Fintech with a core tech engineering hub based in KL

Projects

• Core FX verification product is scaling quickly; Enhancements / changes and new features. There is an existing development road map in place.

Responsibilities

• Expand the existing automated testing framework to continue minimizing any other repetitive manual testing efforts - 80 to 90% is fully automated.
• Design & develop automated testing suites - write automated test scripts that can be integrated with their CI/CD pipeline and execute them in containerized environments

Team & Culture

• Reporting to the CTO who was the pioneer engineer, while working alongside a team of 10 backend / full stack engineers & 2 other QAs - most of them come from (very) reputable tech companies
• The tech stack and methodologies are modern and follow global best practice - goal is to design and develop solutions to be scalable
• Would suit someone who has worked in a start up /scale up before and has a can-do and continuous improvement mindset

Must Have

• Experience in API testing
• Proficiency in automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress etc
• Proven experience in strategizing / planning and developing automated tests
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Experience developing automated tests for fintech products

Level / Grade

• 3+ years of experience in software testing
• 100% IC role reporting to the CTO
• This role is NOT suitable for manual testers who are looking to be trained into automation test engineers

Location

• Hybrid; working 3 days a week from central KL office - acessible via LRT
