Job summary

A leading auditing firm in Seberang Perai is seeking an experienced internal auditor to define audit objectives, conduct reviews, and support compliance with corporate governance. Qualifications

Job description

Define the objectives and scope of internal audit engagements using risk assessments and the established internal audit framework.

Support the development of the annual risk-based audit plan and execute audit activities in accordance with the approved plan.

Conduct analytical reviews and risk-control evaluations to determine key audit focus areas for each assignment.

Review, refine, and enhance audit methodologies and testing strategies to ensure significant business risks and controls are adequately assessed.

Participate in audit exit meetings with management, presenting control weaknesses, recommending corrective actions, and identifying value-added improvement opportunities.

Assist in identifying information technology risks, emerging threats, and potential fraud exposures, including their business impact.

Support the maintenance of the corporate governance framework and promote continuous compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.

Perform follow-up reviews to assess the adequacy and timeliness of management’s corrective actions.

Evaluate the Group and its operating companies against established control frameworks to assess compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Review, challenge, and enhance enterprise risk assessments of operating companies in alignment with the Group’s overall strategy and objectives.

Identify opportunities to add value through improved resource utilization, process optimization, productivity and profitability enhancement, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.

Analyze business insights to focus audit efforts on high-risk areas and value-creating opportunities.

Assess the quality and effectiveness of business process improvement recommendations to strengthen internal control frameworks.

Identify and promote opportunities to leverage data analytics and business intelligence tools to generate insights and enhance organizational value.

Act as a Group resource by participating in audit assignments and special reviews as required.

Evaluate the potential business impact of regulatory changes, system enhancements, and IT developments.

Support compliance with the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP), including planning, execution, and reporting activities.

Assess the internal audit function’s conformance with The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Code of Ethics.

Implement processes to ensure adherence to professional standards and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
