Key Responsibilities

As an Audit Assistant, you will participate in a wide range of audit engagements serving clients from various sectors, including trading, plantation, automotives, healthcare services, cooperative bodies, government agencies, city councils, and not-for-profit organizations such as foundations and charities.

  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, operations, and industry-specific risks.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and completion of statutory and special audit assignments in accordance with approved standards.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting frameworks (MPERS, MFRS, IFRS).
  • Prepare and organize audit working papers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to firm procedures.
  • Perform audit testing on account balances and transactions, including analytical and substantive procedures.
  • Identify and highlight audit issues, accounting discrepancies, or internal control weaknesses and discuss findings with the audit senior or manager.
  • Assist in drafting audit reports, management letters, and financial statements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and referencing of all work performed within the audit file.
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and resolve audit queries professionally and promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax computations and other compliance-related tasks, where applicable.
  • Monitor engagement progress, ensuring work is completed within agreed timelines and budget.
  • Support senior team members in coordinating fieldwork and managing client relationships.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and professional ethics in all dealings.
  • Keep abreast with current accounting and auditing developments, including updates to standards and regulations.
  • Participate in internal training, mentoring, and firm events to enhance technical and soft skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and accountability in managing assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture, supporting peers and sharing knowledge.
  • Willing to travel to client locations or outstation assignments as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, ora professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent) - completed or pursuing.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
