ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (FACULTY OF MEDICINE) - PATHOLOGY
Responsibilities
  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, practicals, and clinical teaching sessions in assigned preclinical or clinical disciplines.
  • Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, assessment tools, and OSCE/clinical examination stations.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in coursework, clinical postings, and research projects.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods, including simulation, case-based learning, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching quality.
Research & Scholarly Activity
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in medical sciences, clinical medicine, medical education, or related fields.
  • Publish regularly in indexed peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific/medical conferences.
  • Secure research grants from internal and external funding bodies.
  • Supervise postgraduate students (Master's, PhD) and contribute to capacity building in medical research.
  • Promote inter-disciplinary and translational research between pre-clinical and clinical areas.
Academic Administration & Service
  • Contribute to faculty and university committees, curriculum review, accreditation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support student affairs, mentorship, and academic advising.
  • Participate in outreach programmes, community health initiatives, and continuing medical education activities.
  • Represent the faculty in national and international academic, clinical, and professional forums.
Qualification
  • MBBS/MD or equivalent with specialist qualification (Master's in Clinical Specialty, MRCP, FRCS, etc.).
