Job Description & Summary

A career within a specialised corporate tax services group which will provide you with the opportunity to advise some of our largest multinational clients meet their obligations under a complex new global tax regime. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax (GMT) regime will be adopted by more than 140 countries including Malaysia which will be implementing the GMT as well as the qualified domestic minimum top-up tax in 2025.

Our team helps our clients improve their GMT tax function to control risk, facilitate better decision making, develop appropriate global tax strategies and ensure tax compliance across various jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Advising some of the largest Malaysian multinational enterprises and foreign companies on Pillar Two GMT implications in Malaysia and other jurisdictions.
  • Preparing impact assessment models and analysing gaps based on the client’s ERP, tax accounting and reporting systems.
  • Providing technical support for Pillar Two GMT for tax accounting reporting process as well as delivering compliance and reporting solutions.
  • Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths and address development areas.
  • Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
  • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
  • Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.
  • Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or professional qualification.

  • An understanding of IFRS and/or MFRS rules will be an added advantage.
  • A good grounding in corporate tax matters computations and willing to take on new and challenging work.
