Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Production Manager or Production Manager to oversee production schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in food manufacturing, including 6 years in a managerial role. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, alongside proficiency in MS Office and production software. ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER / PRODUCTION MANAGER (FOOD TECH)

Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines.

Ensure timely completion of production orders with minimal downtime.

People Management

Lead, train, and manage a team of supervisors, line leaders, and production operators.

Drive team performance through effective delegation, coaching, and motivation.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure all products meet the required quality and safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, HALAL, etc.).

Work closely with QA/QC to address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency (e.g., lean manufacturing, OEE).

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Maintenance Coordination

Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in good working condition and preventive maintenance is carried out.

Inventory & Material Management

Monitor raw material usage and work with supply chain/warehouse to ensure adequate stock levels for production needs.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Enforce workplace safety procedures and ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and improvement plans to senior management.

Analyze production data to drive operational decisions.
