A leading manufacturing company in Johor Bahru is seeking a skilled individual to lead the Process and Equipment team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance, optimizing processes, and ensuring effective operations. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years in production management within the manufacturing sector are required. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and the implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
Lead the process and Equipment team and will be responsible for technical assistance for SMT and backend process & technical assessment & process optimization to process engineering team in supporting line activities.
Have leadership as a department head and report to superiors and management side as necessary.
Collaborate, work close and negotiate with other departments.
Coordinates with the Project Manager for all plant and equipment requirements.
Lead teams in establishing standards based on best practices and continuous improvement projects.
Manage, mentor and train site technical resources in various processes.
Support asset and resource management intra-site and supervising Process and Equipment team.
Support and guide team members in the development of documentation required to support the production process. Process flows, PFMEA, IQ, OQ and PQ).
Liaise with the engineers and provide assistance when necessary.
Continuous improvement programs and process controls related to Process Engineering and deployment, monitoring, and improvement of key metrics (QOS, Scrap, MTTR, MTBF, OE, Management KPI).
Oversee the improvement of the operational efficiencies, yields, capital investment, capacity management as well as basic KPI’s such as Cost, Quality, Schedule, Safety and 5S.
Implement and utilize LEAN process flow, high OEE, use of 6 Sigma processes, scrap reduction and engineering improvements.
Plans and directs activities concerned with development and application for industrial processes, materials, and products: Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical.
Establishment of measurements and targets to improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitors a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance to include inspecting equipment for proper lubrication and cleaning, complete preventive maintenance records.
Monitor’s performance of plant and equipment used on site to determine efficiency and maximum utilization.
Review breakdown record of all equipment and suggest ways to minimize breakdown period.
Makes spare parts available for equipment if they can be repaired on site.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
Prepares monthly summary of total maintenance cost for all plants and equipment.
