Job summary

A reputable publishing company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Production Manager to supervise the book printing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal manufacturing efficiency and quality standards. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work under pressure.

Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Process Management – Supervise manufacturing process of book printing operation. Monitor and adjust production processes to maintain optimal efficiency, reduce wastage and minimize downtime.
  2. Quality Assurance – ensure book or material meet with print quality standards. Work with QC/QA department to implement and maintain quality control programs according to internal/external standard.
  3. Maintenance coordination – work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and preventive maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions promptly.
  4. Safety & Compliance – Enforce health, safety, and environmental policy and adhere to internal/ external regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training for staff.
  5. Team Leadership – Manage and motivate production staff, including supervisors and operators. Conduct performance reviews and identify training/improvement needs.
  6. Continuous Improvement – Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and implement efficient manufacturing practices. Drive cost reduction and wastage control initiatives.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry, knowledge in printing portfolio or chemical/ paper manufacturing environment will be added advantage.
  3. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
