Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kulai, Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled team leader to manage piping engineers and draftsmen. In this role, you will provide technical guidance in fiberglass piping design for shipbuilding and offshore projects. You must possess a degree in engineering with a minimum of five years' relevant experience, or a diploma with eight years' experience. Strong communication and project management skills are essential. The position demands fostering a positive team environment and overseeing project assignments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years' relevant experience or Diploma with at least 8 years' experience.
• Strong technical background in piping design and construction, preferably in shipbuilding or offshore projects.
• Experience in planning and executing projects.

Responsibilities

1. Leading, mentoring and developing a team of piping engineers and draftsmen;
2. Providing technical guidance and coaching to team to provide fiberglass piping design review and advisory to customers in shipbuilding and offshore business
3. Overall managing TSG Teams to deliver fiberglass piping prefabrication spool drawings meeting customer/project requirements
4. Overall managing team and team member performance, productivity, on time delivery and spool drawing quality.
5. Oversee work assignment - projects/jobs allocation
6. Fostering a positive and inclusive team environment
7. Identify and drive development and improvement
8. Exploring opportunities and collaboration with other department and business units.

Job Requirement

1. Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years' experience of relevant experience, or Diploma qualification with at least 8 years' experience.
2. Possess strong technical background in piping design and construction preferably in shipbuilding and/or offshore project construction
3. Proven experience in planning, executing and managing projects
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Proven record of department/team management experience
6. Experience in interactions with customers and partners across different countries and cultures
7. Broad understanding of organization operation and development
