Job summary

A leading automotive company in Shah Alam seeks an Assistant Marketing Manager to lead the marketing team and oversee overall marketing functions. This role requires a minimum of 3 years experience in a marketing role, preferably in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing budgets, and preparing reports on marketing performance. Job Responsibilities

To lead marketing team, manage and oversee the overall Marketing function for the company, day-to-day marketing operations, including campaign planning, execution, and communications.

To formulate, organize and execute various marketing programs and activities.

Oversee all exhibition, events, roadshow, motorcycle launch, test ride, media coverage, riding and other marketing activities.

Formulate yearly programs and budget for marketing in line with company and brand direction.

Obtain approvals from Top Management for marketing proposals, budgets, creatives, and bike usage.

Provide preliminary approvals for proposals, budgets, creatives, and bike usage requests from other departments related to marketing.

Offer guidance and direction for activation programs, which may include events, promotions, and campaigns.

Supervise and manage projects, including event and product launches, across multiple brands.

Prepare the Advertising & Promotion (A&P) budget to ensure effective allocation of resources for marketing activities.

Generate and compile reports for the Head of Department (HOD) to provide insights and updates on marketing performance and initiatives.

Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, websites, and social media platforms.

Develop and implement online marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media marketing.

Job Requirements
  • The candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree in Marketing.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the marketing role function.
  • Experience in leading marketing team.
  • Experience in automotive-related industry is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to social media platforms to promote and create impactful brand awareness.
  • Creative, independent, proactive and resourceful in solving operation challenges.
  • Cooperation and the ability to communicate well with all levels in the organization.
  • Open-minded and willing to learn new things.
  • Able to work extended hours and participate in weekend events.
  • A committed team player with strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to participate in convoy riding is an added advantage.

Suzuki Malaysia Automobile was established in December 2004 to import and market Suzuki automobiles. It began selling Suzuki automobiles in Malaysia in May 2005 as an authorized distributor. With a view to further establish and promote Suzuki automobiles in Malaysia, Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) and Itochu Corporation entered into a joint venture agreement with DRB-HICOM in early 2008 on a 40:20:40 shareholding ratio. Suzuki Malaysia Automobile commenced the local assembly of Suzuki Swift back in 2007 with plans to assemble more models locally in the future at DRB-HICOM's Automotive Complex in Pekan, which at the end of the day will provide savings and benefits to the customers and generate the economy whilst promoting the local automotive market.
