A leading procurement organization in Malaysia is seeking a skilled procurement professional with over 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will manage the full procurement cycle, negotiate effectively with suppliers, and work on cost-saving initiatives. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin are essential. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and overseas suppliers to achieve optimal quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships to support operational continuity.
Identify and develop alternative and new suppliers to mitigate supply risks.
Monitor supplier performance, address issues, disputes, and ensure timely resolution.
Lead annual supplier assessment and evaluation exercises.
Manage the full procurement cycle, including purchase requisition review, purchase order issuance, delivery coordination, and invoice verification.
Review and verify procurement documentation (price reviews, PRs, POs, sourcing recommendations, etc.) prior to submission to the Procurement DGM for final approval.
Ensure procurement records, pricing, vendor data, and item master data are accurate and properly maintained in the ERP system.
Lead project-based procurement activities such as new outlet openings, upgrades, and outlet closures.
Identify, propose, and implement cost-saving and cost-down initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
Support procurement strategies that enhance cost control, efficiency, and resource utilisation.
Monitor market trends and pricing movements to support informed sourcing and negotiation decisions.
Lead and manage group procurement tender and cost-down exercises, including pre-qualification, tender evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendations.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ISO standards, and relevant import/export regulations.
Support and assist in internal and external audits, including annual audits (if applicable).
Work closely with the HOD to develop departmental action plans and ensure the team works towards target achievement.
Guide, monitor, and support the procurement team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of tasks.
Provide leadership and coordination on cross-functional procurement initiatives and business-critical projects.
Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.
Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement or Purchasing.
Possess strong communication, analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, well-organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative with a leadership mindset.
Able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers).
