Job summary

A leading financial services firm located in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Manager to oversee insolvency and restructuring engagements. Key responsibilities include managing operational matters of companies in receivership, leading asset realisation processes, and guiding team members. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Take control of companies placed under receivership or liquidation, including preparing appointment documents and managing communications with former officers, authorities, creditors, solicitors, potential buyers, and other relevant parties throughout the engagement
  • Oversee day-to-day operational matters of appointed companies where applicable, including managing ongoing business activities, drafting correspondence, preparing progress and statutory reports, and maintaining regular communication with debenture holders, banks, and creditors
  • Lead the asset realisation process by preparing sale advertisements, information memoranda, acceptance or rejection letters, and coordinating with solicitors on sale and purchase agreements
  • Manage stakeholder distribution processes, including conducting proof‑of‑debt exercises, reviewing and evaluating creditor claims, and preparing the necessary documentation for distributions
  • As a Manager, provide leadership and guidance to team members, monitor engagement progress, and ensure key issues and decisions are promptly communicated to the receivers or liquidators
Education and Professional Skills / Knowledge

Experience & Education:

  • A recognised degree in Business or equivalent with at least a second class upper classification and/or a Professional Accounting qualification
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in insolvency and restructuring engagements or related fields

Other skills:

  • A client service mindset and capable of being an effective business advisor and problem solver
  • Possess strong people management, interpersonal, communication, and networking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams successfully
  • Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage
