Job summary

A global banking organization is seeking a professional to lead the implementation of metadata management practices across APAC. Job description

Lead the implementation of metadata management practices across APAC in alignment with global standards.

Manage metadata policies, processes, and ownership models (including stewardship).

Operationalize critical/ key data elements, business glossaries, and metadata repositories to support risk management, regulatory reporting, and analytics use cases.

Conduct gap assessments of metadata for critical regulatory reports (e.g., BCBS 239, IFRS 9, MAS reports, other regional regulatory requirements).

Act as regional metadata lead for the Collibra tool.

Configure and manage metadata domains, business glossaries, assets, and domains within Collibra.

Build workflows to review, approve, and certify metadata definitions and mappings.

Implement metadata-driven lineage views to support data traceability for regulatory reports (such as Liquidity).

Build and manage business and technical data lineage views across source systems, data lake/ data warehouses, and reporting layers.

Ensure metadata traceability for high-risk regulatory reports, analytics use cases using a combination of automation and SME validation.

Work closely with source system owners, reporting teams, and tool owners to ensure end-to-end KDE coverage.

Collaborate with data stewards and reporting teams to define metadata for new and existing regulatory reports and specific use cases.

Lead metadata onboarding sessions, workshops, and training across APAC.

Support metadata requirements, ensuring traceability of key data fields.

Partner with tooling teams to integrate Collibra with data lake/ data warehouses, downstream applications (e.g. Vermeg, Moody's), and other regulatory tools for metadata ingestion.

Enable metadata APIs and automation scripts to streamline the ingestion and maintenance of metadata.

Collaborate with DQ & other relevant teams to ensure metadata alignment across platforms.

Position Specifications:

Bachelor's/ University degree in Data Management, Computer Science, or related field

Certifications such as Collibra, CDMP or CIMP are highly desirable.

4 to 7+ years of experience in data governance mainly in the metadata roles in banking industry.

Proven experience with regulatory data governance initiatives (BCBS 239, IFRS9, MAS, APRA, BoT etc.).

Strong understanding of data lifecycle, business glossaries, and regulatory reporting elements in banking domain.

3+ years of hands‑on experience with Collibra, specifically in metadata models, lineage views, glossaries, and workflows.

Familiarity with Collibra APIs and metadata ingestion strategies from data lakes and regulatory solutions.

SQL or Alteryx experience for metadata reconciliation and lineage stitching is a plus.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills; experience working with reporting, risk, and compliance teams.

Strong documentation skills to maintain metadata dictionaries and lineage maps.

Ability to simplify metadata complexity for business uers.
