A prominent corporation in Malaysia is seeking an experienced professional to enhance its corporate finance initiatives, focusing on debt financing, JV, and M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years' experience in corporate finance or banking. Responsibilities include analyzing financial proposals, managing banking relationships, and supporting project execution. Strong skills in financial modeling and communication are essential, along with the capability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple projects effectively.
You will contribute to achieving E&O’s corporate objectives by driving corporate finance, debt financing, JV initiatives, and M&A activities, ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects and fostering sustainable business growth.
1)Strategic Evaluation:
Analyse and evaluate corporate finance, M&A, JV, and debt financing proposals to assess their alignment to the Group’s strategic objectives
Develop financial models and feasibility studies to support strategic decisions by the Director, CDI, for presentation to the Group Managing Director and Executive Chairman
Conduct market research to identify/source for potential strategic partners and initiate discussions to explore opportunities for synergy and collaboration
2)Project Execution:
Support the execution of corporate exercises, ensuring seamless implementation of financing, M&A, and JV initiatives
Prepare detailed documentation and submissions for internal and external approvals
Conduct due diligence reviews for corporate exercises and M&A activities, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
4)Banking facilities/fundings
Monitor and ensure compliance with bank covenants
Coordinate annual reviews of banking facilities while maintaining strong relationships with banks
Establish and nurture relationships with financial institutions to manage existing loans and secure new financing facilities
5)Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to achieve project objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, analysts, fund managers, regulatory bodies, and sustainability partners
6)Develop strategic presentations and reports for the Director, CDI, tailored to the priorities and expectations of the Group Managing Director and Executive Chairman
7)Provide support for ad hoc projects including land acquisitions, site evaluations, and new project launches through effective cross-department collaboration and coordination
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Studies
Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate finance, management consultancy, corporate banking or investment banking
Expertise in fund raising, loan management, and relationship-building with financial institutions
Familiarity with financial modelling, SC Guidelines, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, and risk management frameworks, is an advantage
Technical: Advanced skills in financial modelling, feasibility studies, partnership assessment, and risk analysis. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Personal: Strong relationship management skills for engaging with potential partners, bankers, and stakeholders, complemented by excellent communication abilities.
Leadership: Strategic thinking, accountability, and initiative, with a focus on delivering results through collaboration and innovation.
Work dynamics: Proven ability to thrive under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively. Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on details and delivering high-quality outcomes.
